World class teaching and learning:
Through the National Academy for Nuclear Training (NANT), operated exclusively by INPO for the industry, members have access to leadership development programs and comprehensive computer-based training. Prepares leaders from first-line supervisors to boards of directors to lead with resilience and meet current and future challenges. Training accreditation ensures plant staff receive quality training and gives members confidence their training satisfies U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission rules.
Shared operating data and advanced analytics:
INPO serves as a clearinghouse for the industry’s largest repository of operating experience data. Our data scientists analyze countless records and operating events for their relevance to the industry. INPO insights help members learn from each other quickly and efficiently to proactively address operational and organizational culture issues before adverse events occur Proprietary INPO technologies make it easy for members to contribute and access meaningful operating data. INPO combines leading-edge technology with centuries of operating experience to detect and predict trends.
Key insights into performance to improve self-awareness, drive improvement and address performance gaps:
Our team-based approach supports members in focusing on continuous improvement and learning in all aspects of nuclear plant operations. INPO experts leverage member-contributed data to collaborate with member leadership teams in identifying improvement opportunities, associated drivers and potential solutions. Peer reviews by U.S. and international experts give members benchmarking insight and global perspective on performance. Confidential assessments give members a clear picture of strengths and areas for improvement and potential blind spots.
A direct gateway to the global nuclear community:
Membership in INPO means being part of the global community of nuclear leaders and subject matter experts who are committed to learning from each other, achieving common goals and striving for excellence. Members help shape INPO industry standards and focus areas. Our central coordinating function provides members access to member-only resources, events and forums.
Clear guidance from the industry’s definitive source for standards of operating excellence:

FAQs and Resources
-
After the accident at Three Mile Island, the Carter administration formed the Kemeny Commission to investigate the incident and to provide recommendations for operational changes at nuclear power plants. INPO was formally established in December 1979, in response to the commission’s recommendations. INPO was tasked with monitoring and evaluating appropriate safety standards — including those for management, quality assurance, and operating procedures and practices at nuclear facilities. For more information, view the Who We Are section.

INPO supports over 20 utilities through a mix of integrated performance monitoring, evaluations, member support missions and peer reviews.

The world of “new nuclear” and advanced reactor development holds great opportunity. At the same time, it carries potential risk and profound responsibility for owners and operators. As you work to get new ideas and new projects off the ground, you need assurance that you’re developing an organization that is ready to start up and operate safely, that your plant design will meet expectations for reliability and resilience, and that you’re leveraging industry best practices and lessons learned each step of the way. As the world’s trusted authority on nuclear safety and reliability for more than 45 years, the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations gives members the support they need to achieve exemplary results.

The World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) is a non-profit organization and does not advocate for, or on behalf of, the nuclear industry.
While WANO works directly with its members, the organization is not a regulatory body and does not advise companies on issues such as initial reactor design selection. With safety as the only goal, WANO helps its members, the operators of nuclear power plants, communicate effectively and share information openly. WANO works to assess, benchmark and improve performance through mutual support, exchange of information and best practices. INPO operates WANO’s Atlanta Center and is a member of WANO.

We are open to ideas on what can be included in this section to round off the page and conclude our message.
A few ideas are to add a dedicated section with short paragraph about the INPO brief 2 pager and link to the pdf or a video clip of Jeff Lyash’s presentation from the CEO conference which was originally meant for the New Nuclear page.
As always you have total creative freedom.
